Frequently Asked Questions about prefabricated houses

F.A.Q. Frequently Asked Questions

What are prefab houses?

Prefabricated (prefabricated) houses are produced in a factory in complete wall, floor and roof panels, which are transported to the plot and assembled on site. This method speeds up the construction process, reduces waste and ensures high quality construction.

Wooden prefabricated houses stand out for their speed of installation (up to 1,000 sq.m./week), excellent thermal insulation, low weight that reduces the cost of foundation and high seismic resistance due to the flexibility and vibration damping of wood.

Wood has low inertia and high elasticity, properties that absorb and dissipate seismic forces. CLT panels use multiple layers of wood with cross-laminated fibers, providing stability and significant shock absorption capacity.

The cost depends on the surface, design, panel thickness and finish. It ranges from €800 to €1,200 per square metre, including production, transport and installation. The total turnkey cost ranges from €1,800 to €2,200 per square metre depending on the customer's options.

CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) is composed of cross-laminated wood layers that are glued together under pressure. It provides excellent resistance to vertical and horizontal forces, allows large openings without beams and enables the construction of up to 4 storeys with lightweight, eco-friendly material.

An eco-house is designed to reduce CO₂ emissions, maximise energy efficiency (with high thermal insulation and airtightness) and use renewable materials such as wood, which stores carbon throughout the life of the building.

Thanks to the prefabrication of the panels, the basic structure is ready in 4-6 weeks from delivery to the plot. The final equipment and finishes are added in an additional 2-4 weeks, bringing the total delivery time to 6-10 weeks.

WOODEN PREFABRICATED HOUSES

Why is wood the best choice?

Wooden prefabricated houses stand out as the ideal choice due to the excellent thermal insulation capacity of wood, which ensures uniform temperature and lower energy consumption throughout the year. In addition, wood is a renewable raw material with a low carbon footprint, which makes it environmentally friendly.

Reduction in construction time and overall cost

The prefabricated method significantly speeds up construction time and reduces labour costs and unexpected delays, while offering high precision in the production of structural elements. Finally, the natural aesthetics and design flexibility of wood create warm, healthy and durable living spaces that combine functionality and harmony with nature.
